FEAR

By: Gabe B.

“ Oh my god!” I yelled running toward the house. Two policemen ran over and restrained me so I couldn’t get any further.

Later that evening I saw body bag being zipped up… it was my wife. A sudden feeling of dread, rage, and sadness overcame me.

“Where’s Ruth?” I asked the fireman. Then the fireman got a confused look on his face, like he just found out that he was actually adopted.

“There was someone else?” That is when my ears started to ring and my head started to hurt. Then I heard a faint demonic voice like someone was whispering in my ear.

“DO IT”. I felt a force overcome me like I wasn’t in control any more. I grabbed the gun from the policeman  next to me, put it to my head, the policeman tackled me, then I pulled the trigger.

2 YEAR LATER…

“So how is your job”, said the therapist.

“Ok”, I replied.

“Are you having any negative thoughts?”

“You know why I come here every week once a week for an hour for 18 months straight…all I have are negative thoughts.” I said.

She took a deep breath out of frustration then said, “Is the medication working for you at all ?”

“No, and my nightmares are getting worse almost to the point I can’t tell what is real any more.” I paused for a few seconds, without blinking.

“Also at night I hear a voice, saying something that is too quiet to understand and it repeats itself every night, and it has been going on for a year now… I think… I think I am going insane,” I said.
