About Horses

Did you know that there are over 350 breeds of horses and ponies in the world today? Or that there was a horse that lived to be 62 years old! Well , today you are going to learn some interesting facts about horses. Let us begin!

First, we are going to talk about horse breeds. Horses come in many shapes and sizes from the mighty Shire horse to the small Shetland pony. If a horse is 14.2 hands high and under it is considered a pony. Ponies come in many different breeds. Some examples of pony breeds are the Welsh ponies and the Connemara ponies.

Now we are going to talk about draft horses. A draft horse is a horse that is used for pulling heavy loads. Draft horses are the largest of horse breeds. Some well known draft horse breeds are the Clydesdale and Shire horses. There is a rare draft horse from Germany called the Black Forest. That is my personal favorite draft horse because of their long, white, silky, manes and shiny, black coats.

If you are thinking about owning a horse be prepared of how much care they need. Horses require a lot of care You have to groom, feed, and exercise them every day! Even though horses are a lot to take care of, they are great companions to own.

Now that we talked about the different breeds of horses and how to care for them, we are now going to talk about some rare horse breeds and where they are from. We will also learn about what they are used for. Let’s get started! One horse breed is called the Lipizzan. The Lipizzaner is used for a special type of riding called dressage. Dressage is basically ballet for horses. Another rare breed I mentioned before is the Black Forest. The Black Forest is a rare German horse breed. It can pull heavy loads and also be ridden. On e of the rarest breeds is the Akhal teke horse. They are from a country called Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is located in Asia near the countries Uzbekistan, Iran, and Afghanistan. Akhal teke are very fast horses often used for horse racing. A fun fact about them is their coats. Their coats are usually cream colored and have a shiny, metallic look to them. I hope you enjoyed learning some interesting horse facts today.

Soccer

Soccer.

Have you ever played soccer?

If you have, then don’t you just love…

The wind on your face.

The ball rolling along your feet.

The smooth grass on your cleats.

The last defender and then the goal.

The pressure when you take your life deciding shot.

Your wish of the ball just soaring on in.

And then…

GOAL!!!

Dodgeball

Why can’t we play dodgeball? Because we get hit in the face but we can sew and kids have gotten their fingers impaled. This is my opinion on dodgeball being banned in school. Some people might argue saying that sowing is essential to learn. Sowing is something that a lot of people don’t do unless they want a job that includes sowing. I have never actually seen someone sew before or someone telling me I need to learn how to sew. Dodgeball isn’t an important thing to learn either but it would be fun and competitive for a lot of kids. It would teach them to be tougher. If you have never gotten hit before in your life when a minor injury happens you’re gonna cry and act like its the end of the world. Personally I would much rather get hit by a soft ball then my finger being impaled by a sharp needle. This is one reason I think dodgeball should be unbanned from school.

The War

Chapter 1

John was walking down the street in New York to a restaurant to eat lunch. Lots of people were everywhere that day he got to the store and finished eating. When John went out of the restaurant he saw his friend Jack.

Jack said,¨ how are you doing John¨

John replied back with,¨im doing great how about you?¨, but right as Jack was going to reply back a military jet flew by and police were everywhere. Jack asked a policeman what was going on

but the policeman replied back with,¨get to that building!¨ while pointing at a big building, so Jack and John did what the policeman asked to do. While they were running to the big building they both saw a person eating a policeman

Jack asked,¨John what the heck is that?¨ John didn’t reply back they just kept running as fast as they could. As they got into the building

a policeman said to everyone in the building, ¨get into this room!¨ everyone was walking into the big armored door leading into the underground John and Jack were the last people going into the room John looked back and saw that the policeman was dead and also saw a lot of people tumbling through the glass door. But they weren’t normal-looking Jack pulled John into the room and closed the door locking it

Jack said to him,¨I think I know what those people are¨

John replied back,¨what is it?¨

Jack said,¨I see these things in movies they’re like zombies¨

John said,¨ they do look like zombies!¨. Right then a person went to them and

said,¨everyone follow me I found a room with lots of supplies!¨ everyone went to the room it was full of food, weapons, a vehicle, and lots of equipment then they heard a BOOM! and a big zombie came out of the wall it took a person and ate her…

My favorite holiday is Christmas: When Santa comes to towns. Smell the peanut butterscotch cookies and milk. I like when we start wrapping the present and taping the small wrapping paper. I love eating the food I made with mom or dad. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I spend time with my friends and family.

On the day before Christmas, me and dad wrap presents for family.

I love wrapping because wrapping for the family and my friends is fun. I go back in the room we hide to wrap then up so they don’t see their present. If you can hear Santa on your roof if when you wake up then he hands you present. White for 24 days and you can get presents for I play in the snow every day.

I like to spend time with family and they come over to watch movies or watch us open presents. We get to hang out. When you have time you can play some games or watch a movie. Everybody that related to my family Comes to open their Santa present when it’s the time one at a time opine one. Me and my brother hunter wake every won up.

I love making yummy cookies with mom or dad. One day we spend all day making food or cookies. All of us sit around the table then we pray or blessed. Spent time making different cookies for Santa when he comes.eat sum cookies.

I spend time playing backing giving presents and opening presents. These are my favorite because I love the present, spending time with all my friends or family. I really love when afterbody come to the site.

I’m Sorry

I ́m sorry I don’t know what’s wrong with me and I’m sorry that I’m not the perfect daughter you wanted me to be, I’m sorry I wasn’t the best girlfriend I could have been. I’m sorry I don’t understand what life really is. Sometimes I wish I could just peacefully fade, no more stress. The pills are just right there right next to me but I can’t because so many people would miss me and I would miss them.

We Need More Sleep

By: Daniel M.

Its been asked before.

“How much sleep do we need? How much sleep do we get?”

For one thing, we need more than we get. It has been proven.

Teens only get about 7.5 hours of sleep when we need 9 hours.

This happens because we have to study for tests and doing

homework. On the other hand, kids get 10-11 hours of sleep

when then need 10. This is because they don’t have stress,

they don’t have large assignments, they go to school later,

and they don’t have as many activities after school.

I think that teens need to go to school later because kids get enough

sleep. Plus, they get up early anyway since they don’t have stress

and they don’t have to stay up late doing homework. That is why younger

elementary school kids need to go to school earlier than middle

school and high school students.

School Climate

By: Mimi

Many kids dread going to school because of stress, bullying, and many other reasons. School is looked on as a friendly, safe, and fun environment that kids thrive in, but does anyone actually ask how the kids are feeling?

Bullying is a huge part of school, and the worst part is that kids can’t escape it. They can get bullied at school and right when they get home, their phone subjects them to cyber bullying. There are three main types of bullying that students can or are experiencing:

  • Physical: This type of bullying is more likely to be seen in boys and is all about dominance. This aggression involves hitting, kicking, and threatened violence.
  • Relational: This bullying is used to bring down self esteem and is mostly used with  girls but sometimes can be seen with boys. It involves manipulation of social standing or reputation and is the most prevalent form of aggression and bullying.
  • Cyber: Cyber bullying involves the use of electronics to degrade or bring down others. The perpetrators are harder to identify with this bullying because of screen names and can be quickly and impulsively be spread to larger audiences, and most of the time there will always be remaining evidence no matter how hard you try to erase it.

Bullying in Schools this website describes what goes on inside schools and gets more in depth about bullying.

Allergies:

Allergies can cause a big problem in schools. Creating a whole separate table for peanut allergies, checking in Family Consumer Science if anyone is allergic to the food they are about to work with. Still schools manage to not fully think about how kids with allergies feel.

Kids don’t want to sit at a table all alone just because they have an allergy. This subjects them to bullying and just because of these little reasons they open themselves to having an allergic reaction. Many kids have had some sort of reaction at school. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) did research and found out the following:

  • In a classroom of 25 students, at least one student is likely to be affected by food allergies.
  • The number of people with food allergies are increasing
  • About 20% of students with food allergies (1 of 5) will have a reaction while at school.
  • 1 of 4 students who have a severe and potentially life-threatening reaction at school have no previous known food allergy.

Allergies at Schools this article talks more about managing allergies at school and how the schools can fix the problem.

Stress and Anxiety:

Stress is always going to be present in someone’s life. Whether it be everyday or once a week, but schools can still reduce or limit the amount of stress students have. Here are some things that make students anxious or stressed:

  • Homework
  • Busy schedules
  • Peer Pressure
  • Image concerns
  • Financial worries/ Clothing choice

Teachers have a huge part of stress involved with students’ lives. They have control of the things they put in their classroom and what the class will do that day. They should put an arrangement of seating choices in the classroom for kids who have a difficult time sitting still. Also teachers should limit the amount of yelling in their classroom because some kids have a challenging home life and they should not feel like everywhere they go they are unwelcomed. They should also include many activities throughout the school week so kids can have something to look forward to for the week or everyday. Teachers should also be careful with homework, after a six hour school day kids should feel like they can go home and relax. Kids shouldn’t go home and have to do homework and then go to an extracurricular activity, they should have some downtime.

In this article About School Stress you will find more information about what stress feels like and how School Districts can help.

School Climate’s are very important for the students mental health and the overall experience of school. I hope this gave you some more information about how schools work and how you can help it!
