Story of My Life

2006 -2007 When I was born I was 9lbs and 6 ounces. Shortly after I was born well more like an hour, my grandpa died.

2006 – 2008 When I was two I choked on a candy bar:  it was 3:58 in the morning and I found a piece of a candy bar on the kitchen counter so I climbed out of my crib and took the candy bar and ate it but I choked and I started to cough so much. My mom woke up because she was on the couch and rushed me to the hospital and they got it out.

2008 – 2010 When I was four I bite my dog and then my dog had to get 3 stitches on its back. When I was 5, I went to a rock concert in florida and fell asleep during it and I was right next to the speaker.

2012 – 2019 Normally every year I would see my dad but since n this year I was 4 I haven’t seen him then he decided to come back in my life and he thinks he knows me but he doesn’t.

2019 My Uncle Chad died on Friday March 8th, that day so going so well until my grandma was trying to find my brother so she could tell him and my sister went out and found out that he died and I was crying for 2 hours until my mom came home and I told her and she was devastated. A few weeks later on March 24 we had a funeral and he would be so proud of me right now and i wish i could still see him.

School Hate

Do you dislike school because I bet you’ve said that before. Have you ever said,”I hate school!” Well after all, this is just my opinion, but I think you’re just saying that because you don’t like to learn. I bet you actually like school though because you have friends there. If school wasn’t a thing you probably wouldn’t have those friends. Also, I don’t know about you but when something fun is going on at school like Pioneer Day, Field Trips, and just fun things to do in a class, I get excited to go to school. I’ll admit it, I’ve said that I don’t like school, but I do.

Friends

Friends are like the core of school and life. Without friends you feel lonely and depressed. When I’m on my way to school I say to myself, “At least my friends will be there. Maybe!” Also, when my friends are there, I feel like the day goes by a lot faster. When they aren’t, I feel like im in jail and don’t go anywhere for about 5 years.

Bullies

Sometimes when people get bullied, they keep it in and don’t want anyone to find out. When they do get bullied they get depressed and don’t want to come to school anymore. They also get suicidal thoughts because one person made fun of you. Don’t let them tower over you like your a weakling and stand up for yourself. If bullies weren’t a thing, people would maybe still hate school. So if you are getting bullied just tell someone so that it’s one less thing to hate about school.

So from what you learned here today about how you actually like school but say you don’t and some reasons why you might want to come or not come to school, just give it a try and tell someone what you like about school or what you dislike. If your having fun, good for you but if you see someone who’s feeling down, help them up. If your having a hard time in school just talk to someone. School really isn’t that bad you just make it worse for yourself by saying it is.

Part One

Josh Rivera lived in Maryville, Tennessee, and he was the one everybody talked about. If they’re not talking about his thirty point game the night before, then they’re probably talking about the game winner that he hit last week. Four seconds left in the fourth quarter, give it to Josh. He was six feet at just fifteen years old, and he was already getting the attention of college scouts! Going into tenth grade, he was planning on attending the University of Memphis. Josh’s father played at Memphis, but wasn’t quite good enough to go professional. But Josh, he was ready.

It was second period, and Josh was heading to math when someone came running up behind him.

“Yo Josh!” yelled Josh’s best friend, Gibby Frankford. Gibby was much smaller than Josh, but they’ve been best friends ever since the third grade. Gibby was 5 feet and 7 inches tall, and he weighed a little over 150 pounds.

“Hey, Wassup?” Responded Josh.

“You free on Saturday?”

“I think, why what’s happening?”

“Well, There’s this new skatepark that I’ve been dying to go to, but my mom won’t let me go.” Gibby explained.

“So now she just randomly allowed you to go?” Josh asked.

“Well…not technically.”

“What do you mean, not technically.”

“She said that maybe some other day I’d be allowed to go, and today is some other day. So I’m planning to go when she is out with her friends and I’m home alone, which is tonight. But I don’t want to go alone.”

“Will she be mad if she finds out that you went?”

“She’s not going to find out.” Gibby assured.

“Whatever, I’ll go. What time are you going?” Josh asked.

“Soon after school, I’ll text you and let you know.”

“You know I have practice at 3 right?”

“Ah shoot, I forgot about that. It’s only until 5 right? She’s not going to be home until 6:30 or 7 so we can go after your practice, even if we can’t stay as long as I wanted to.”

“That will work, see you then.” Josh settled.

That day after school, Josh headed over to practice. Him and his team were preparing for the state championship. Josh had an outstanding season, impressing scouts from all over the country. If they won this game, Josh would have a good chance at big colleges including Kentucky, Virginia, Miami, and possibly his dream college, Memphis. Once practice was over, he got a text from Gibby telling him to meet him at his house. So Josh ran home, took a quick shower, got changed, grabbed his skateboard, and made his way over to Gibby’s house.

“Sup.” Josh said.

“Hey Josh! You ready to have the best time of your life?” Gibby asked anxiously. Josh laughed.

“Sure.” He said.

The boys rode their skateboards to the skatepark eagerly, and once they got there, they started skating right away. Every move and trick you could imagine was happening. Josh rode up on a ramp, flipped his board at the top, and rode back down again.

About 1 hour into skating, Josh thought he would try a new trick. He rode up a ramp, made a quick turn at the top while flipping his board, landed it and rode back down. He tried this a couple times and was nailing it. The boys were about to leave, but Josh wanted to end off on a nice trick, so Gibby joined him. He thought he would do his new trick that he had tried, so he could keep practicing and become great at it. Josh pushed off and flew up the ramp, he made a quick turn and almost instantly flipped his board. He landed it and rode down the ramp when he looked up and saw Gibby skating towards him with speed that couldn’t be stopped. Josh panicked but didn’t have time to react. With the snap of a finger, Josh tried falling off his board to avoid contact with Gibby but couldn’t pull his leg out of the way. Gibby rode over Josh’s left leg while Josh was trying to jump up to get out of the way. Snap! Josh’s leg snapped in half, the bone pointing a direction that it was not supposed to be pointing. He lay there in shock, trying not to look at the possibly career ending injury.

PART TWO

“Oh, Gibby!” Gibby’s mom screamed. “I told you plenty of times not to go, and you disobeyed! I am very, very disappointed in you son.”

“I’m sor-”

“Nope, I don’t want to hear it! Sorry isn’t going to cut it. Do you even realize what you’ve done? The star of the team, you’re best friend! You drug him into this mess just so he can snap his leg. His career could be over! All he wanted to do was to get into Memphis so he could follow his dream, and walk in his father’s footsteps. That dream is cru-”
“Mom!” Gibby yelled at the top of his lungs before she could finish her sentence. Gibby’s mom stared at him for a couple of seconds. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to yell,” Gibby continued, “I know what I did, and that I should’ve never done it. All I wanted to do was to have some fun skating, I never planned for this to happen.”

“Well, Josh is in the hospital, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.” Gibby’s mother concluded.

Gibby decided to hop on his bike, and go see how Josh was doing. He flew, and I mean flew. He was a cheetah chasing his prey, speeding around corners, ignoring every voice that told him to slow down. Once he arrived, he parked his bike, and ran inside.

“Hello young man.” The lady at the desk said.

“Josh Rivera? Room number? I need hi-” Gibby blurted out.

“Slow down please,” The lady asked.

Gibby took a deep breath.

“Good, now try again.”The lady advised.

“I’m here to see Josh Rivera.” Gibby said.

“Oh! You must be Gibby!”

“Yep, that’s me.”

“Josh has been asking for you. He’s in room 59.” The lady informed Gibby.

“Thanks!” Gibby raced to room 59. Once he got to the door, he knocked quietly and slowly made his way inside.

“Uh, hey Josh, how’s it going?” Gibby asked sheepishly.

“Oh! Hey Gibby! I’m so glad you came.” Josh responded cheerfully.

“You shouldn’t be, I’m the one who got you in this situation. I’m so sorry, like, truly really sorry.”

“No! Don’t be at all sorry. Not even a little bit. It wasn’t your fault, I’m the one who agreed to go.”

“But, but you’re basketball career. Memphis, what are you going to do?”

“Don’t worry about that. Actually, the doctors told me that they’ve seen way worse. I mean, this isn’t going to help my career at all. But I doubt it will negatively affect it.” Josh assured.

“Well that’s good.”

Gibby was very glad that Josh still had a positive attitude, and that he didn’t despise him for what happened. Gibby stayed for a while, and the boys talked and watched sports on the mini television by Josh’s bed.

“Gibby?” Josh asked quietly.

“Yeah, Josh?”

“I actually don’t know what’s going to happen to my career. How much will this injury affect it?”
“I’m not sure Josh. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”

“Yeah I gues-”

Josh’s thought was silenced by a knock at the door.

   “Come in!” Josh yelled.

“Hey Josh. How’s it going?”

An older man with a scruffy gray beard walked in the door. He was tall, maybe a little over six feet. Josh couldn’t see him right away, but when the man stepped into the light he realized…the head coach of Memphis basketball was standing right in front of him.

Chapter 1: The RV Guy

I wake up at 7 a.m. sharp, as usual. I’d prefer to sleep in until, I don’t know, at least 9:00? That would be a dream come true.

“Nefertiti!” My mother calls, “Time for big breakfast!”

I groan, knowing that “big breakfast” is actually just an organic kale, mud, smoothie, and a bowl of roasted cockroaches. I get out of bed, stretching and yawning, “HHAaAaWwWwWwW!“. “That was a good one.“ I thought to myself, proudly. I guess I should go get dressed. I can’t show up to breakfast looking like a cow!

I then throw on my casual attire and head down the stairs to get my breakfast. My parents wave me over to the table. I sit criss cross on the floor and start drinking my kale, mud, smoothie. I dip my roasted cockroaches into the smoothie and head out to the mud path to the middle of my town.

“Nefertiti!“ an old man says as I ́m walking by and I internally groan for the second time that day. I just love my life.

“Hello!“ I greet, putting on a fake smile and getting closer to him. It looks like he wanted to start a conversation.

“What brings a pretty girl like you to a run down pathway like this?“ I was weirdly flattered by the compliment.

“Well, I kinda live here.“ I say with a cautious undertone, remembering what my mother and father had taught me about staying away from strangers. However, I felt trapped and couldn’t find it in me to just spit in his face and run away. My thoughts were rudely interrupted when he called out my name.

“Nefertiti? Darling?“ A middle-aged man just called me “darling“. EW. My brain is telling me to get out of that man’s view as fast as possible. I guess my brain isn’t working right today.

“Uh, yeah?“ I don’t know what my body language is showing, but I am the most terrified I’ve EVER been in my life right now. And that’s saying something for a girl who lives in a poverty infested country.

“I have a present for you. I’ll give it to ya now. Follow me!“

Still petrified, I follow him out to his sketchy, dirty, tourism RV. At least I know he has a job. I guess that boosts his creepy pedophile persona to an employed, creepy pedophile persona. A few awkward moments pass by, and the next thing I know, Im hopping into his vehicle. He closes the RV door after I enter, making sure to get extra close to me as he reaches his arm over my chest. I take notice of my surroundings. Old. Gross. Creepy. The whole package. I close my eyes and think to myself, ”This can NOT be happening.” This is the type of stuff that happens to other people, not me.

As I regain my sense of logic, I try to conjure up a plan that would get me out of this RV. My mind immediately goes to breaking the window and running home.

My thoughts were rudely interrupted when he asked, ”What type of music do you wanna hear, sweetheart,” with an unsettling undertone.

”Heavy metal.” I blatantly request.

”Your wish is my command, princess.” He says, finding the music I wanted. He turns on ”Wake me up Inside” and turns it up to a reasonable volume for the style of music that was playing. Now is my chance to get out of this hole and never come back.

”Can you make the music louder please?” Despite being held captive, I still use manners. It’s a weird, but useful trait of mine. He does as I ask, and then I put my plan into action.

Frantically, I look around the van. A long, wooden item catches my eye. Oh my god! A baseball bat!! This should be able to break through a window, right?

I get into my swinging stance. Without hesitation, I swing the bat and it crashes against the window…but it didn’t break. I’m officially screwed.

Rocks Rock

Rocks are everywhere, on the ground in the woods and in your backyard. But rocks are more fascinating than you might think. For example, did you know that pumice is the only rock that floats on water. It does that because it’s full of air bubbles.  Or that the oldest type of rock called the Acasta Gneiss has been around for more than 4.031 billion years! Also, did you know that fossils are prehistoric rocks with traces of plants or remains of animals in sedimentary rocks.

Let’s look at some decorative types of gems. Did you know that gemstones are considered rocks. There are many different types of gems. Some of the most common gemstones today are opals, emeralds, and sapphires. Some of the more rare ones are red beryl, black opal, and grandidierite. Most opals including black opals are found in Australia while emeralds are mined mostly in Columbia, Brazil, and Zambia.  However, emeralds can be found and are mined throughout the world. Sapphires are mostly found in Kashmir, Burma, and Sri Lanka. Red beryl is so rare that it can only be found in Utah and New Mexico, and it is very difficult to find gem quality stones. Gem quality grandidierite is found mostly in Madagascar and can sell for $20,000 a carat.

Next thing we are going to take a look at are fossils. Fossils can be found just about anywhere. Most dinosaur fossils are found in North America, China, and Argentina. Fossils are preserved remains that were once living things. Some examples are bones, shells, exoskeletons, and stone imprints. Fossils can be preserved in something called amber.  Amber can come in many colors such as yellow, orange, green, brown, or red. Amber comes from trees. Amber is not a tree sap, but it is a plant resin that is made of organic compounds. How amber traps things and fossilizes them is it will drip down from the tree and catch things such as feathers, bugs, and other things. Fossils can be formed in many ways but a more common way is when a plant  or animal dies in a watery area, and it is buried in mud and silt. Then the soft tissues quickly decompose leaving the hard bones.

Hopefully, after reading this, rocks  may be more interesting than you thought before. Next time you see a rock, take a closer look. Those rocks in your backyard could be more special than you think!

Cousin’s First Car Wreck

Last summer my family and I went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house. I was very excited to go because my older cousin Zach got his driver’s license over the winter meaning we aren’t stuck at the house without the adults having to drive us everywhere. When we arrived in Indiana we unloaded our stuff into the guest rooms we were staying in and caught up with everyone. Later that night we were going to the park down the street from their neighborhood to go to some sort of carnival type thing. When we got there we broke up into our normal groups; Me and Zach, My mom and Aunt, My stepdad and uncle, and my sisters with Railey and Hayden. Zach and I were going to meet his friends from high school and his girlfriend. We got bored at the carnival so Zach texted his mom and said that we were gonna take a drive down to Mcdonalds and then the movies. We walked back to the house and everyone got into the car and he started to back out of the garage. We completely forgot that there were cars parked right outside. So when we backed out we hit his mom’s car and left a scratch on the front left side of the car. We all started to panic because we knew were gonna be in deep trouble. Zach had a stupid thought to paint over the scratch on the car with red paint to match the car. Sadly, she found out and noticed the paint and he got in big trouble for it. We still ended up getting Mcdonald’s and saw a movie but he wasn’t allowed to drive for a month.

Archie

So now this is year 2 of my little life. I was growing up fast and I was catching up to my big brother Reggie (he’s not actually my brother though) But this is not about him it’s about me. If you didn’t know that I was a very self-centered little puppy that is not afraid of other dogs unless it’s a really big dog then I go behind my mama’s legs and she picks me up. She says ̈It’s ok little baby, they won’t hurt you.” But that’s only when I go outside. Sometimes they don’t put a leash on me and I can run around the yard, but they always catch me because I’m not too fast. Ohh, and I love when my mama sings to me when she’s giving me a bath and then after I get a treat and a brushing and an ear rub. By this time I am fully potty trained and can go outside by myself, but I don’t like to. I love walking up to the park with my family, but if it’s too hot or cold then I don’t like it. When I come in I like to lay on the floor and drink water, I like to drip it everywhere. When it’s dinner time and my family is eating I want to eat what their eating so I bark and they say,

̈ ̈Now no Archie you can’t eat this.̈ ̈Mama says,

¨You little stinker.¨ My sister yells,

̈ ̈ I’ll give you a little bit of my sandwich.¨” Daddy says while he grabs something off his plate and starts giving it to me.

¨This is why he throws up because he can’t eat people food. He gets an upset stomach.¨ My mama repeats for the 100th time. Mama number two (me) stays quiet and hands me a little crumb. After they finish they usually play a game and I sit on one of my mamas’ laps and watch them play. So this is a little gross but I eat stuff in the yard… and I got roundworms, BUt don’t worry because I’m all better now.

So year three is not that interesting, but I’m going to try my best. So I have my daily walks and naps with mama, and when my 2nd mama comes home I lay on the floor with her and lick her on the face and then take her socks and run around the house. In the morning at 6 am I lay in bed while my mama gets ready and wakes my other mamas up. Then at 7 I slide down the stairs with my fur all messed up and sit with my mama while we watch my other mamas leave. That happens every day except for 2 days during the week, and those are my favorite days. Laying in bed until 11 in a sea of blankets and then going downstairs to sleep some more, and the best part is when mama number two brings friends home to sleep with me on a bed made of air. I LOVE going on car rides and stick my head out the window and feel the breeze in my little face and sitting on my mama’s lap. BUT sometimes manly in the morning I go in the car with daddy….. And I go to this place with other dogs….. And they look in my mouth……. It’s THE VET. I hate the vet so much but thankfully it’s not all the time and I get treats after. So that’s my life right now but don’t worry I’m not dead.

Prologue

Tommy ~ (Panting hard) Oh my god. I might lose my life today, just like my girlfriend did a few days ago. I am running for my life. Away. Away from my family. Away from my town. Away from Stanley’s Diner. Away from my life. Deeper and deeper into the woods I run. I hear him. I won’t come back. I can’t come back.. I will die here. Should I go back? No. I can’t stop. Their footsteps behind me are like stomps, rattling through my brain. What have I done? Why am I here? I guess I will have to tell you my story, that is, if I have enough time.

Scene 1 – The Diner

(In his apartment) I wake up to my alarm clock buzzing like a bee in my head. I sit up, staring into the hall of my apartment. It’s a normal day in Salt Lake City, Utah, just like every day. I stumble out of bed, annoyed that it’s Monday. I grab my uniform and walk to the bathroom. I do my morning routine. Brush my straight teeth, comb my soft, brown hair. Something seems different about today. I’m sure it’s nothing. I put on my uniform, looking into the mirror at a body I have worked very hard on. I go to the gym every morning after work at Stanley’s Diner. That’s where I work. I am a waiter, serving people and meeting them at the same time. I tie my shoes and wave my dog Hephaestus, a goodbye wave. He knows I am going to work and he knows I will be back at 4 in the afternoon today. I walk down the stairs to the parking lot where I park my truck every day. I hop in and turn the ignition, I see the sun just peeking over the horizon. I drive down the street a few blocks until I get to the diner so I park and walk into the building.

Stanley ~ Tommy! How are you, man?

Tommy ~ I’m doing good mister Stanley. How are you?

Stanley ~ For 60 years old, I am doing wonderful! Hey, uh, why don’t you go into the back and wash the dishes from yesterday eh?

Tommy ~ “Ok Mister Stanley!” Although, I didn’t really want to be washing dishes right now. It’s way too early. I would rather be serving all the customers who are here for their breakfast. I walk into the washroom and grab a dish towel laying on the counter. I start washing the plates and forks and spoons and cups. I’m very good at washing the dishes which is why Stanley gave me this job today. He says I am his best worker, doing what I should be doing and getting it done. After all the dishes are washed, dried, and put away, I lay down the dishtowel where I found it and head out into the bar where I can serve people their drinks. Some of my friends from school are here getting their meals and talking about girls and cars. I walk over to a gentleman and ask him what he would like. He wants some orange juice. I pour him a glass and glance toward the door and see a girl from my school with her friends. Her name was Haley, little did I know that she would soon be my future girlfriend. She looked over at me and smiled. I knew she didn’t like me but I smiled back. She and her friends walked over to the bar and sat down. They ordered their drinks and when I asked Haley what she wanted, she asked me what I think she should get. Ok, I was totally flirting with her because she has been my crush since 8th grade, and now in 11th grade, I knew I could try to be her boyfriend. I stuttered a little bit until I found my courage to say “You should get the blueberry smoothie. It’s very good!”

Haley ~ OK, I will have that. Thanks!”

Tommy ~ Now being a jock, I had to keep my cool. I am on the high school football team and the varsity wrestling team. A lot of girls like me, but not Haley. I try to let her notice me, but she never does. She never talks to me. Like ever. So this is sort of a big deal. I pour her smoothie and hand it to her with trembling hands. She takes it, thanks me, and smiles. One of her friends says that they have to leave to go on another one of their shopping sprees, but Haley stays behind. She sits there with her drink staring at her phone. The only other person in the Diner right now is an old man eating pancakes and reading the newspaper sitting on the opposite side of the restaurant so I walk up to Haley and sit down next to her. Immediately, she powered off her phone and turned to face me.

Haley ~ Hey Tommy.

Tommy ~ Hey Haley. What’s up.

Haley ~ Oh nothing much, I am just tired of all the drama in my friend group right now.

Tommy ~ Oh, that’s always fun.

Haley ~ I just don’t know what to do. I’m just so stressed and I just don’t even know how to act around them.

She put her head in her hands and sighed.

Tommy ~ Well, we could talk about it?

Haley picked up her head and stared into my eyes. I never noticed how pretty her eyes were until now.

Haley ~ WHat do you mean?

Tommy ~ We could have dinner tonight if you wanted?

I couldn’t believe that she was actually talking to me and I was keeping my cool until now.

Haley ~ I love that idea. It’s a date then!

Tommy ~ Ok, how about the Hard Rock Cafe. Tonight. At 7?

Haley ~ I’ll be there.

She leaned over and kissed my cheek. It was a little peck, but it was still a kiss. She stood up, smiled, and walked out the door to walk to catch up with her friends. I waited until she was way down the street before getting up and doing one of my little happy dances. I just made a date with the hottest girl in the school by keeping my cool the whole time! I was so excited that I didn’t even realize I would be late for a hangout with my friends.

Scene 2 –

I was on my way to the park where I would meet up with my friends. We were gonna play some basketball, which we do every Wednesday at noon. Our school is very weird. Every Wednesday, they tell us to come in at 12:30 instead of 7. It’s to help with getting up because our school has the worst reputation from people not doing well on our exams due to the amount of sleep we don’t get. So they pushed hours later, so we have a whole half a day to ourselves. The boys and I usually play basketball and hanging out and then we will ride together to school. I was hurrying a bit because I was running late from talking to Haley at the Diner. I met up with them and they asked why I was late.

Cooper ~ Dude, why you so late? You missed a whole game of basketball.

Zane ~ Yeah bro! What’s up with that?

Tommy ~ Look, guys, I’m sorry I was late. I just had some things to do.

Cooper ~ LIke what?

Tommy ~ Nothing important.

Zane ~ yeah I doubt that. If it was nothing important then why were you late then.

Tommy ~ I just don’t want to talk about it okay!

Zane ~ he is just a chicken. Some girl probably.

Cooper ~ Zane chill out! Tom is probably going through something right now so just leave him alone.

Zane ~ Fine whatever I am getting a drink.

Tommy ~ Thanks dude you saved me back there from getting me embarrassed.

Cooper ~ It’s fine, unless you tell me why you were late.

Tommy ~ Well if I tell you then I have to tell everyone else.

Cooper ~ Than do it.

I didn’t really want to tell them what happened at the dinner but I guess I will have to tell them sometime.

Tommy~ Ok guys, this is what happened. So I was at Stanley’s working my morning shifts when Haley Comrose from school walked in with her friends, so I served them their drinks. Then all Haley’s friends left so it was just me and Haley and,

Sam ~ Whoa whoa whoa! I know what’s gonna happen! They kissed!

Tommy ~ Actually, no, we didn’t kiss. But we talked and set up a date for tonight. At the Hard Rock Cafe.

Sam ~ Tommys got a girlfriend! Tommy’s got a girlfriend

Tommy ~ NO I DON’T!!!!!

It got quiet real quick. I didn’t mean to lose myself there, but if I am gonna go out with a chick, I need my friends to support me, not make fun of me.

Sam ~ Jeeeeezzz dude! calm down I didn’t mean it to be mean. I was just joking around.

Cooper ~Sam stop you need to learn self-control. If Tom’s gonna have a gf, we need to be good friends and go with it. Ok?

Tyler ~ Heyyy, if your gonna start going out with Haley, you could hook me up with one of her friends!

Carter ~ Yeah! Me too!

Tommy ~ Guys, guys. I’m not gonna hook all you guys up because of me and Haley. Look, I got Haley fair and square, you guys need to do the same if you want hotties.

Tyler ~ Toms a wuss.

Tommy ~ Oh Forget it guys, I’m going to school.

Carter ~ Bye then.

Sam ~ Yeah, bye sucker.

Uh, I couldn’t believe these guys. I am just really frustrated right now. Like, what if I mess up tonight and I make a big fool of myself in front of Haley? Or what if she is just going to show off to her friends? Or what if I spill something on my clothes in front of her?? Oh man, I’m a mess right now. I really need to talk to someone. Now. I walked across the street to the school, which in fact was very big. I always had a hard time managing my way through that place.

It’s a few hours later in the day and I am almost done with school. I have to meet Haley at seven so I am going to go home, shower, shave, and take a nap. I need to be already and put together for tonight, I can’t blow this.

To be continued…

The First Deer I Ever Shot

By: Logan M.

One evening in early December and it was rifle season and I went out with my dad trying to shout my first deer and I was going hunting at my house for the first time all year and it was right on the edge of a cut bean field and there were woods and then on the other size and there was a cut cornfield. It was about three o’clock in the afternoon. My dad had just got in the treestand and I was going up the latter and my dad sais freeze There is a deer on the other side of the woods and in the cut cornfield and then it walked off into the woods.

I got up in the tree stand and we were sitting there and it was snowing and there was already a couple of inches of feet already. I was sitting in the stand freezing for a couple of hours and it was starting to get dark and we didn’t see any dear so I was thinking that we weren’t going to see any dear and then I heard a gunshot and it was the neighbor and he was close and it made me jump and it scared me.

We were sitting in the treestand and it was about twenty- five minutes until dark and all of the sudden there was a family of raccoons that came out of the woods and then they went up a tree and then right at the time we were about to get out of the treestand and a bunch of deer came out into the bein field and there were some bucks and some does. but I couldn’t tell which one was which and then I shot and I missed they all started running except one doe. I reloaded and shot again the doe jumped and they all ran off and I could see the fire when I shot. After I shot I was shaking as I was trying to get down and my dad said

 “carefully don’t fall,” he said.

 I replied “ I know but I can’t stop.

When we came back after we went back and got flashlight me and my dad went and we went back to where we thought I had originally shot and then we followed blood until we went into the woods and I got caught in the briers and it hurt and took my hat and ripped it off my head then we followed the blood about 100 yards and then I saw the deer and I screamed I went up and I went up to the deer and it was a pretty big doe we drug her out of the woods and then we went to the back of the chicken house and we gutted it. That was the first dear I ever shot and I will never forget that day.

Sofie the Potato

One day as sofie was walking, she saw a tiny little potato lying on the road. She walked up to it to pick it up, maybe to bring home for dinner, but the moment she touched it, she transformed into a potato! “Oh no!” Sofie thought, “how could this happen?”. Sofie looked up to the sky and realized that the clouds were potatoes, and then she looked down, and saw that the grass was a potato too! She started walking on the brown potato path, but it wasn’t long until she ran into someone.

“Ow!” the other potato exclaimed, when she looked at the potato she noticed that it was an older man, wearing round thick black rimmed glasses, and had a resting mad face on him.

“Oh my goodness!” Sofie said, “I’m so sorry, I just arrived here and I have no clue where I am.”

The man took a big sigh, and took a while to let it out, but then he said, “Well I’m not usually this nice, but,” he took a breath, “I guess I can help you around if you want.”

“Really?” Sophie hollard’ “That’s so kind of you!”

“Yeah sure, anything for a newbie, do you know where you need to go, or what even happened?” The man asked.

“Oh yeah, I don’t know where im supposed to go or even why I’m here, I do know that I picked up this tiny potato, and POOF I was here.”

“Oh no, not the tiny potato.”
