Life without grandparents is hard. No Christmas or Thanksgiving. No days alone with them. No stories from their past life. Children without grandparents have a hole in their heart that will never be filled in by anything. Grandparents can have a big influence on young kids and teens. They can teach them love and patience, and coach them in their early stages of life. Telling them what and what not to do. When parents can’t do their job as parents, most grandparents will step in and take the children under their wing, but that doesn’t happen if you don’t have any grandparents. Kids without grandparents have to fight a little bit harder in life. They are surrounded by all their friends grandparents. So ederly people will try to be adopted grandparents to these kids, but it’s never the same. If a kid has grandparents, they wouldn’t think anything of it, but like us kids who don’t, we would give the world to have one day with our true grandparents. But we are faced with reality, and have to just soak all of it in. All the things other children get to do with their grandparents makes the kids who have none feel helpless. Hearing all of the fun things that they do and the memories that they make makes us feel worse. But can we do anything about. Depends. You could sit back and let all of this reality conquer you, or you can do something about it.
Doing something with our parents or siblings will turn our back on having no grandparents. We make the best out of our situation and do things that grandparents would never do. Like going to a go-kart track or taking a ski trip. While other kids are sitting down with their grandparents for an old-timey meal, we no-grandparent kids are exploring the world. We are going places and doing things. Things that make us feel stronger than any ordinary person with grandparents. Yes, maybe it is a little sad and that hole in our hearts will never go away, but we also experience things that none of your grandparents would ever think of doing.
