Once there was a girl named Cassidy, she was born on September 5th, 2004 in Denver, Colorado. From when she was just 7 years old she struggled in school because people bullied her because of her height.
In her first year of middle school, in 6th grade, she was already 5’9. Cassidy didn’t mind her height at first, she was the fastest in her gym class, she could help people reach things, she was top scorer on her basketball team. She did notice that she was different but she didn’t let it get to her. Until she got into middle school, people started making comments such as, “How’s the weather up there?” Then she got really angry and upset.
Today is a friday so she just has to get through the day and then she has a whole weekend to herself. When she got to school her friend (may) was at Cassidy’s locker as usual, and was super excited for something.
Cassidy asked,”What’s so exciting?”
May happily answered with,”Remember when Mr. court (assistant principal) said that there is going to be a surprise assembly in the gym this morning!!”
Cassity suddenly remembered and got excited too. They were soon at the gym and saw that a show was going on, it looked like a circus. There were people on stilts, people juggling, people all around doing amazing tricks. It was so cool! They sat down and started watching. She saw people from different religions, races, and sizes. While watching cassity noticed something she has never noticed before. People can do all sorts of things, it doesn’t matter what you look like.
