Once, a long, long time ago, longer than the time your grandparents were babies, there were three sisters born. Their mother could not take care of them, so she sent each girl to a different orphanage, each under different last names. Eden, Anne, and Margot. Eden- was dressed in a green blanket when she was left on the steps of Jhonson´s Orphanage. She had a tag that read-Please find a home for my beautiful Eden Palson.- Eden might look like your brother or sister. She has white-blond hair, tied in ringlets all over her head.
Anne was dressed in a pink blanket. She had a lovely face, and for a triplet, she is quite unusual. She has short dark brown hair. Her tag read-Anne Louis. Take much care of my dear darling. MG. Anne still has this tag. She does not know what that stands for. She is now at Polosonnes orphanage. But we know what that stands for. Margaret Gregory. Her very own mother.
Margot is next. She was sent to Louis and Sons’ orphanage. She was not left with a blanket. But the only thing that read on the tag was Margot Kimberling. You may be thinking, why is this mother putting them all in 3 different orphanages? Why is she putting them under 3 different last names? But we will save that for later. You may also be wondering what the girls look like now.
Eden is a lovely girl. Lovelier than you could ever imagine. But inside, she was a horrid person. She was the type of person you might have sitting next to you in class – but she was mean. Cruel inside. She only cared about herself. She was adopted by a family. Her cousin´s in fact. But she didn´t know that they were her cousins. She had gotten married, had her own children-Carole and Linda-(but we´ll only get into them once in a while) and became a seamstress. She, of course, never used the money for her family, only buying fancy fabrics and perfumes for herself to wear. She expected her husband to pay for everything, and get her whatever she wanted. You might think, ¨Gosh, the nerve of her! I wonder why her husband didn´t just run away.¨ You might be thinking that, but if he had run away, Eden would have probably had him put into jail. But she was a good seamstress. She only, for some reason, made green dresses. Perhaps it was her favorite color. No matter.
` Now, about Anne. Have you ever heard of Anne Frank? Well, if you have, you probably have seen a couple of pictures of her. Anne is a spitting image of Anne Frank. Anne also grew up, got married, had her own children- Gracie and Louis- and became a writer. She writes all kinds of books.
Margot is now very beautiful. She has also curly blond hair. But she is not married, and does not have a job yet. She lives in her own little house she made. Now. I am very sure that you would like to know why their mother sent them to 3 different orphanages under 3 different last names. You have been waiting very patiently, so I will tell you. The girl’s mother was a farmer. She did not want the girls ever to find her. And also, they were under 3 different last names because she didn’t want them to find each other and find out who their mother was because she was upset because she had to give her children away. She didn’t want her girls to be sad. So she didn’t tell them. Until just recently- in the book I mean. If it meant now, like this very minute, they may as well just be dead. She sent each girl a letter- I have no idea how she got their mailing addresses, but she sent them all a note. The note said “This is for you, and I am your mother. You have two other sisters, and they each have different last names, and different orphanages. Send a letter to your sisters and then come find me, for you are now on your own and can take care of yourselves. Mother- post sciptum-your last name is Gregory. Here’s my mailing address- 46 Blackberry Lane, Poole, England’’.
So each girl went to the house. (Of course they didn’t send letters to each other because they didn’t know who their sisters were, or where they lived, their lastnames, or anything!) When each girl went to the house, they saw their mother, and they also saw each other. They did look a lot alike. They ran to each other and hugged. They had never seen each other ever before, but for some reason they were not skeptical about this, and did not tell the police about a person claiming to be their mother in a letter. They were always truthful girls, so they thought that their mother would be truthful too. Their mother saw them and turned around. She said “Girls! I am so excited to see you again! And my how you’ve grown!”. They each had brought their family, and they all came in to the little cottage. They ran and hugged. There was laughter, and they played games, and had so much fun.
Their mother had a house built for each of them and their families, and it was complete with furniture, clothes, and food. They were finally back together again, family at last. They were not very happy with their mother for giving them up, but they were happy because they were with their mother again. The girl’s families were all okay with moving there, but some of the family members stayed behind because they loved their town.
