I AM A BASEBALL PLAYER
That’s who I am.
That’s what I play.
Baseball is all my life, all I care about, and all I need.
I can practice for hours on end and still not be tired.
I can watch from sunset to sunrise and not be bored.
Taking in the wind and adrenaline running around the bases.
The smell of the fresh leather baseballs just being pulled out of the box.
The exciting moment of getting a new bat or glove.
Making a great play or getting a great hit to boost yourself but also your team.
Extraordinary moments like hitting your first single, double, triple, and home run.
But the most important thing you can ever do is having great friendships with your teammates and that contributes to all the fun.
You might be the best one on the team and have great moments all the time but if you don’t have any friends then no one really remembers and there’s no fun in a lot of the things you do.
Ever since I played tee ball and picked up a ball I loved it.
I might not have known what I was doing or what it would be later on.
Even then part of the fun is learning how to play and what to do.
Even in games sitting on the bench watching your team hit or field and supporting them is fun.
Even when your fielding and nothing happens you are always covering a base for a steal or backing up a potential throw.
Even working out at my house or the Y I enjoy because I know it will help me get better.
Baseball is all my life, all I care about, and all I want.
It’s what I play it’s who I am a baseball player.
