What Air Sees

By Sarah B.

The air sees lots of things, and knows everything. The air is invisible. But it can see everything you do, and is always with you. Air sees who got an A on a test, and who got an F. The air sees birth, and death. The air can see everything at one time. There is air near the stars, and air in the deepest caves. The air sees you wake up, and when you sleep. The air can’t talk to you, or answer your questions. Air can’t finish your dinner, or be your friend. But air sees everything. Air sees good, and air sees bad. There is air here right now, watching you. Air has seen history, every part. Air can’t take anything back that it’s seen. Air knows you, and who your family is, and what you like to do. Air can’t sit down. Air can’t stand up. Air is all around you. It’s not just down or just up. It’s everywhere. Air was there when you first learned how to ride your bike, and when you learned to swim. Air can’t talk to you, but it’s there. Air is in your drawers, and inside your car. In fact, air is inside of you. Air sees life, air sees death. Air cannot do anything but just watch. Air has seen the first humans, and the first war. Air doesn’t have feelings. You breathe air all the time. Air has gone places humans have never been. Air has climbed the highest mountain, but it is not a person, or animal. Air is just part of our world. Air was there when your parents were little, when you tied your first shoe. Air isn’t a thing you can buy or sell. The air sees everything.
